No, I Am Not Going Up There!

posted on 15 May 2013 in Construction and Industrial

I have always been terrified of heights for as long as I remember. When I was younger, I was the only kid in the neighborhood not climbing trees or going down the big slide at Six Flags because it was so high. I would feel knots in my stomach just thinking about it. So when I had my own children it was no surprise that we wanted to show them the world. Never would I every believed that would include climbing Pikes Peak and trying not to pass out. We planned a vacation full of adventure and fun and when we were finished, I was over ruled and we would be riding the Cog up Pikes Peak. I decided the best defence would be just not to think about it until I had to. After all, what kind of an example did I want to be for my kids? The big day came and all was fine until we got on the train. We started up the mountain and I managed to sit away from the window. Big mistake! As we climbed the mountain the air got thinner. As the air got thinner, the more apprehensive I became. I really wished I had sat by the window so I could get air. By the time we reached the top, all I could do is try to remember to breathe, while I tried to remember not to freak out and upset the kids. The train came to a stop, we got off and walked around. Much to my surprise I didn't pass out. I kept walking around, but stayed away from the edge. I tried to look way out, but not down. I had forgotten all about my fears and had become absorbed in the view and the reaction of my kids to the adventure. To top it off, we found piles of ice and snow. This was a real treat since it was late June. All and all, it was a wonderful trip resulting in me being able to put aside my fears so my kids could have a great memory.

Mike Collects Three Car Magazines Every Month

posted on 3 May 2013 in Cars and Transport

The other day while Mike was busy checking out the latest magazines at the local book store he noticed three teenagers probably about 15 or 16 years old checking out the same magazines he was checking out. The taller one was checking out the latest edition of Evo while the other one was checking out Sport Auto. Then he overhear him talking about a pass plus scheme and Mike realized that these three teenagers must have already passed the standard driving test and are looking forward to gaining valuable knowledge as well as additional driving techniques and learning new skills. Impressive, that was what Mike thought when he overheard their little discussion, most kids their age would be too busy driving around with their new ride to even think about gaining additional skills or knowledge. He saw all three kids purchase a car magazine while he stayed here he was standing debating over which magazine to go for. There are 3 magazines he normally buy each month but he saw two more magazines that caught his attention and he is having a hard time deciding which ones to buy.

Enjoying the Outdoors With Our Marvelous Caravan

posted on 30 April 2013 in Holiday and Travel

My family and I always look forward to our annual vacation. I work 9-5 five days a week and seldom get to spend time outside. Our vacations are nothing elaborate as we quite frugal when it comes to spending. A basic type of vacation allows me and my family to spend more time outdoors seeing new things. We spent three weeks in Port Fairy which is situated in western Victoria on the coast near the Great Ocean Road. We stayed at the same caravan park as it was too much effort to pack everything up. Sice the caravan could only accommodate two people comfortably we bought the kids a two person tent which we set up adjacent to the caravan. Our caravan had the latest appliances and even a plasma television. It was great to relax in front of the television at night after a long day of site seeing. The caravan also had a very comfortable couch were we often ate our meals. We also brought our bikes with us so we could ride along the Great Ocean Road. It was exhausting. The weather did not healp as it was extremely windy. I always looked forward to preparing meals in the caravan as it was similar to being at home with a fully equipped kitchen. We must have saved a lot on take away food. We brought most of our food from home and often had dinner watching the sunset.

Products Without the Instruction Manuals Are Usually Fake

posted on 26 April 2013 in Internet Related

A number of companies have come up in the market such that it would not be easy for one to differentiate which product is genuine and which one is not. This is because the state of the economy has turned out to be dictating such that people would find every possible, even if it is illegal as long as they are able to make money. That is why, people suffer great losses with fake commodities for the benefit of the others. Therefore, it is important for a company to set their logos straight with their products so that they may not be mistaken by those that are not genuine. Such companies as the LG have been able to survive such challenges by setting their logos right for their customers to be able to identify them. Even with the manuals, the lg gs500v manual has scooped one of the best and stood out even though the fake once were also in existence. Such are the reasons why lg will still remain the best in the market even when the others fall.

Doing Business is Made Easy Thru Paypal

posted on 24 April 2013 in Business and Finance

As an active ebay shopper, I got used to making my payments through paypal. All these years, I am happy to say that I have never really encountered any serious concerns in my transactions with paypal. As a matter of fact, I have been recommending it to many of my friends. I tell them about the dependability of the services offered by paypal and the warmth of their agents in relating to their customers. This is something that's hard to find these days. But I was honest enough to tell them also that the only complain I have about it is that Paypal Slow To Load. In my experience, there have been two or three instances when I had to wait for about thirty minutes for the payment to be loaded. I was informed though by the agent that these things really happen every once in a while but I was assured that there was nothing to worry about. In general, I am happy and very satisfied with their services and I look forward for more years of partnership with paypal.

A Couple out to Enjoy the Night

posted on 23 April 2013 in Technology

Joy has been very busy on the phone, as observed by Mike. This gave him the impression that Joy was up to something really important for her to stay on the phone for so long a time. To his surprise, he eventually found out that Joy was actually talking to someone from the motorola helpline. Joy has been complaining about some problems with her new phone and she thought there was no other way to get help. As soon as Joy put down the phone, she went to Mike and told him what transpired during their conversation. Joy was obviously relived to find out that her phone was still under warrantee program, so there was no need for her to worry about anything. Because Joy was already in such a good mood already, she asked if Mike was interested in going out to watch a movie and then have dinner later in the evening. Mike thought that the offer was just too good to resist. And so the couple went out and enjoyed the night together.

A Friend of Mine Switched from AOL to Comcast

posted on 14 April 2013 in Technology

A friend of mine who is now living in California told me that she has made a switch from AOL to Comcast. I asked why and she said that the connection was just not that good with AOL and thinks that it must been a signal issue. It wasnt only her having such an issue with the connection but a lot of people in her neighborhood has complained about it too. She also told me that with Comcast her download speed is way faster than what she was normally used to and there were tons of freebies included in her subscription. One of them is the Norton anti-virus software which normally is subscription based but for her it is available for free for the entire duration of her contract with Comcast. The only downside that she could ever think of was how she was rudely passed around to contact norton for technical support about the software. I consoled her and said that maybe that agent she spoke with was just having a rough day. After all she was just human and personal problems could take it tolls at work sometimes.

Could be a Start of Something Good

Sheila was never close to her stepfather. Since the time her mom married Art, Sheila has tried to avoid him, to avoid trouble. She didn't want to be disrespectful to Art because she knew that it would hurt her mother. Sheila also appreciates the fact that Art never pushed himself to her. He was always patient even when Sheila would have her mood swings every now and then. He would never interfere when Sheila and her mom would have their usual fights. He was usually quiet. One day, I got home and realized that it was only Art who was home. Not wanting to be rude, I tried to initiate a conversation with him. Sharing a sandwich and soda with Art in the kitchen, I asked him, how can I find who is calling me? Would you know? Art looked very surprised when I talked to him like that. Then he said, I think there's a website we can check to help us trace that call. I can help you if you want. I smiled at Art and said, I would like that. Sheila felt good and for sure, Art feels the same way, too.

Password Hackers Have Strongly Interfered with Entertainment

posted on 2 April 2013 in Arts and Entertainment

When the owning of an account in any sector first came into existence, many people were contented that their information within their account was safe. Unfortunately, the very technology that brought safety in the accounts is the very one behind the hacking of the passwords today. It is interesting to note the password which was intended for security purpose can no longer be trusted by the users because the password hackers have evaded it and the secrecy of the information stored within the accounts is no longer guaranteed. Bu the good thing is that people can still get over the password hackers by simply changing your account password as often as possible so that you are never available to the password hackers. The Flickr privacy in the social network sector for instance is never guaranteed and so people have to ensure that they work towards changing the passwords quite often. This method has secured many passwords and accounts so that people are never going to live in fear for their accounts that has for many years been jeopardized.

A Blossoming Love Affair between Luis and Jenny

posted on 1 April 2013 in Technology

Luis is happy to announce that Jenny and his mom have already established a very good relationship now. Luis and Jenny have been together for almost a year and he is happy to share that this is the first time his mom has tried to reach out to a girlfriend of his. In fact, he even thanked his mom for her nice gestures especially towards Jenny. Her mom told him that she is nice to Jenny because she can see the positive impact she has on Luis. Because of Jenny, Luis has already quit smoking and has avoided drinking sprees with his friends. One time over dinner, Luis' mom heard him asking Jenny, Why were you asking me earlier how can you find out who called you? Do you have a prank caller? Since when did you start receiving these calls? Luis' mom saw how concerned Luis was. Jenny had to tell him to relax a bit because she is not really sure if the calls were meant for her. But Luis insisted that they report the matter to the police authority.

Help the authorities to locate a scammer.

posted on 1 April 2013 in Home and Garden

Scammers are all over these days and they are always targeting people that they can benefit financially from. If you are scammed, it is good to look for immediate help so that you will not lose much. Many scammers are always in need of money and they will trick you until they get the money. It is good to be aware of how you can do it so that you will be helped since at times their traps are usually hard to avoid. If the scammers have called you, it will be a good thing and you can help the authorities to locate them using that phone number that they used to call you. What the police will use is the lookupbyphone.co.uk in order to determine who they are and where they are located. It is always good to cooperate with the police in order to help stop these scammers from scamming innocent people of their hard earned money. Also, be careful of any deals that you enter these days because most of them are not genuine at all.

Creating a Unique Space Means Knowing Your Own Heart

posted on 25 March 2013 in Construction and Industrial

Planning a self-build home is made easier by really knowing what you love to spend time on. It is all very well to fantasise about this or that luxurious feature, but if the attraction is only in the idea of having it, but not in actually using it will be money wasted. Furthermore, I think it helps if you work in the construction industry because you understand the practicalities of a self-build, and where you need to "reign in" your dreams in order to make your property more energy efficient (for example). In my line of work, I operate a post hole borer, and I think I understand the limits to which I'd be willing to go to build my own property.

For example, a big sauna and hot tub with traditional decking surrounding it may sound like the dream to some, but for me an occasional use in my local gym more than satisfies me. What would be indispensable would be a large kitchen with enough room for all the gadgets and cookery projects which I would love to surround myself with. Added to this a substantial walk-in pantry with beautiful wooden storage shelves to display the results of the bottling and canning I love to do. A substantial garden with ‘outdoor room’ areas would invite me to enjoy the best of the weather, while enjoying the fragrances of the kitchen herb garden planted close to hand to enhance my culinary efforts. The joy of self-build is that you can really make it your own space, reflecting your tastes and interests.

I Hope That Those Who Write Pamphlets Will Improve in the Information That They Offer

posted on 24 March 2013 in Uncategorised

If I were to make any changes in the kind of work that I do, maybe it would be to encourage those who come with the pamphlets for motherly care and parental rights in the hospitals to be more creative and informative in the kind of information that they offer to the parents that are new in their responsibility while in the hospital. Even though what they are doing is already acceptable and is being appreciated, there is still more that needs to be done in the same case and if they could only Relinquish Parental Rights and go with the most recent laws which have been implemented, then it would have been better for them and their services will be appreciated all the more. I am more than glad and I appreciate what they are doing, but I think that if they improved their services then it would have been better. I hope that by being the nurse that I am, those who offer these services should improve on their pamphlets and everything that they offer will be appreciated.

Twitter's Subtle but Impressive Logo Achievement

posted on 24 March 2013 in Internet Related

As a graphic designer myself - making web banners and designing websites - I must hand it to Twitter. They have a remarkable accomplishment with their logo. The modest, cartoonish silhouette of a bird might not seem too unique, but it's very telling that the bird is so recognizable and synonymous with the service. Most of the reasons the logo works so well is best viewed in contrast with its early prototype. Birds are not unique base concepts, and neither was Twitter's Bird 1.0. It flew straight horizontally, had a couple of Looney Toons-esque feathers sprouting from its head, and had a sort of plump "cuteness" to its overall body shape. In light of media hype and association with major worldwide developmentssuch the Iranian uprisingTwitter was forced into a much more serious image. Its redesign elegantly reduced the bird to what are essentially three circular shapes with flourish to provide wings, a beak, etc. However, this bird is a deeper blue, flies at an upward angle, is leaner and more fluid, and evokes a sense of movement. Whether charges of Twitter being a medium of "revolution" are wholly accurate, it is clear that Twitter has decided to embrace this public image and has triedsuccessfullyto evoke notions such as freedom and movement. Agree with it or not, you can certainly see it. Not bad for a cartoon bird.

Pauline Gets a Surprise Visit from Her Brother

posted on 23 March 2013 in Uncategorised

Pauline has just come home when she noticed that the front door of her house is slightly opened. She pushed the door very slowly and checked if someone was inside. When she was sure that no one was there, she checked if some things were missing. She was relieved to know that everything was intact. A few minutes later, she was already enjoying her dinner. To her surprise, a familiar looking guy suddenly showed up. When she was sure it was her brother, Tony, Pauline ran to him and gave him hugs and kisses. I've missed you, bro. Where have you been all this time? Tony replied, I just came from Singapore. Didn't I tell you I was going to stay there for at least two years? Pauline smiled as she said, Well, yes you did but you never called to tell me how you're doing. Anyway, I'm glad that you're here because I need to ask you about howdoifindoutwhocalledme.com. Do you know if it really works? Tony said, We can check on that later. Can you at least offer me dinner first? I was looking for food when I came in earlier but I couldn't find anything. That got Pauline laughing so hard.

One Glorious Week on a Vegetable Farm

posted on 20 March 2013 in Holiday and Travel

I just got back from a week-long vacation, staying at a working farm. I know the host family sweetened my stay by letting me sleep until the sun was truly up, and by serving breakfast before any work was accomplished. That mercy has short-lived. All of the guests had been forewarned to pack work clothes and weatherproof boots, and we all left the breakfast table ready to start a grueling day of real work. I was assigned to the planting team, and I have a much stronger appreciation now for the effort it takes to put food in my shopping cart. The earth smelled wonderful, and the fresh air was exhilarating for this normally office-bound spirit. This was the most gratifying vacation I have ever taken. Instead of a lazy vacationer’s sunburn and 5 extra pounds of belly fat, I returned home with a farmer’s tan, leaner belly, and 10 broken fingernails. I'm off on another farm holiday in autumn - this time to a holiday cottage in the Peak District - a lot more relaxing!

How to maintain balance in a dating relationship

posted on 20 March 2013 in Business and Finance

Whereas dating is a two-way game, there is always the dominant person in the relationship who carries the relationship to the next level. Sometimes you will find yourself concentrating on the relationship so much that everything else such as your other family members like your siblings and parents have no place in your life. If you are the dominant person, you may find yourself planning what you want to do with your lives for instance marriage and children, and with this occupying your mind you will not see a missed call on your phone. When you are in this place, you could check on howcaniseewhocalledme.com in order to follow up on any calls that you may have missed while you were with your partner. In as much as this kind of concentration is important you should not always forget that it is not the only thing that exists in your life. A Charcoal Grey Pashmina: Universal, Functional and Timeless

posted on 10 March 2013 in Fashion

I have a beautiful charcoal grey pashmina. Depending on the lighting, there are tints of blue that can be reflected in the grey. I specifically chose this color because it complimented so many different styles of clothing and would be appropriate in any occasion. Whether I paired this with jeans and t-shirt, or a formal evening dress, this colored pashmina worked perfectly in any setting. The dark gray was functional as well, because it minimizes the obviousness of dirt or stains, making them less noticeable. The charcoal gray coloring helps block out light when I needed to cover a stroller so my baby could nap. And being a dark color, it would absorb some of the sun's warmth when my baby uses the pashmina as a blanket. The charcoal grey may seem to be unexciting as other bright colors, such as red, greens and yellows, but this conservative, understated, yet sophisticated shade reflects my personality. Plus charcoal grey never goes out of style it is never a trend and can last a lifetime.

How Sickness Brought Me Back to My Core

posted on 9 March 2013 in Uncategorised

Getting sick has its good side, too. This is what I have come to realize recently. Sure, it is frustrating to be stuck at home, with limited activities to do but then it also allows you time to reflect on your life. At least this is true in my case. You see, I used to spend my time doing things that are not really important like surfing the net and checking out updates from whenare.co.uk among others. I used to hang out a lot with my friends, talking about non sense topics. But when I got sick, it turned out to be an opportunity to evaluate my life in general. I realized that I should not be taking my family for granted because no matter how I love my friends, in the end, it's my family who will never leave my side. Also, being sick for so long taught me how to pray. I knew how to pray before but I've never prayed so heartily as I do now. In other words, getting sick has brought me back to my core - my family and my God.
